Tenaru leads medal count on day one of SISC Games

ST Joseph’s Tenaru leads the medal count after day 1 of the 2025 Solomon Islands Secondary School games.

St Joseph’s Tenaru picked up three gold medals and one silver medal from athletics events, 5000m and javelin.

Bethalyn Tatamara and Michael Horikura both claimed gold in the senior 5000m events for girls and boys respectively, Alfred Hairiu claimed the senior boys’ javelin gold medal.

White River Community High School, King George Sixth and Su’u National Secondary school also picked up medals during day one of competitions.

White River CHS won bronze in the girls 5000m, silver in the boys 5000m while George Leleo of Nguvia CHS claimed the bronze medal.

King George Sixth School picked up their first medal in the boys senio javelin event while Su’u claimed the bronze medal.

In the junior javelin event Christine Forau scooped the gold medal for St Nicholas, King George Sixth with the silver and White River CHS claimed the bronze medal.

The 2025 Solomon Islands Secondary school games continue tomorrow with more actions for athletics, rugby 7s, netball, beach volleyball and netball.
