
Western province prepares to welcome Pacific Leaders

Western Province is ready to welcome Pacific leaders for the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting retreat tomorrow.
The Western Province Premier, Hon. Billy Veo and his team will be the first to welcome the leaders at the Munda International Airport, before they are escorted to the Agnes Lodge for their refreshment.
A committee member for the arrival program in Munda, Zeno Entrikin told SIBC News that entertainments by traditional war canoes of western province, the Tomoko will be on display for leaders during their refreshment.
She said students will also be involved in the escort from the Airport, as they will hold flags and wave along the road whilst the leaders make their way to the Agnes Lodge.
Chair of the Roviana War Canoe group, Leva Bea said they are looking forward to show case their traditional war canoe and are pleased to be part of the program.
“We are so excited to see our pacific leaders and we are ready to showcase the identity of us here in Western province with our Tomoko,” he said.
In terms of Security, Police presence is also visible in Munda as well as Noro and much of it will be tomorrow during the escort from Munda to Noro.
Police officers continues to call for communities to work together to welcome the Pacific leaders.
The public in Munda are also looking forward for the arrival of the Pacific Leaders. Market vendors and carvers will be displaying their products at the market just in front of the Agnes Lodge.
The leaders retreat will take place at the Marina Hotel in Noro.
