The Solomon Islands National Teacher’s Association (SINTA) has this week increased its credit union member fees.

In its Annual General meeting recently, the National Executive Council agrees to increase its union fees from $20.00 to $40.00 effective this week.

In a radio talkback show this afternoon, SINTA General Secretary Samson Faisi re-emphasised, the increase is necessary to acquire funds in providing efficient services for teachers.

“The services that SINTA wish to offer is huge but how to carry them out is limited as funds are an obstacle to SINTAin rendering these services to its teachers or members throughout the country so that they can benefit from what it would come up with as it progresses on with its work.”

Mr Faisi adds the fees will be deducted on a fortnightly basis.
