Solomon Airlines has announced its Dash 8 aircraft resumes full domestic service as of last Friday.

The aircraft, also known as the ‘Megapode’, had been undergoing its heavy C-Check maintenance program under contract with Hawker Pacific based in Cairns, Queensland.

Airlines General Manager Operations and Commercial, Gus Kraus says after almost three months out of operation they are proud that the Dash 8 is finally back into service.

Mr. Kraus says the airlines is looking forward to providing a safe and comfortable return to a service that provides a vital air link for the people of Solomon Islands.

He adds they are also looking at the possibility of providing Dash 8 services to Manaoba and Lomlom airports, subject to those ports being commissioned and operationally approved.

The aircraft currently provides further air links to Taro, Seghe, and Lata.
