The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today marks two important milestone achievements- the launching of its website and the launching of the enhanced integrated framework tourism project to kick start its implementation phase.
Supervising Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Affairs and External Trade Ministry, Jerry Manele says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade has the responsibility to promote and protect Solomon Islands interests and its citizens abroad.
“Through its diplomatic missions abroad, it seeks to enhance Solomon Islands’s security and prosperity by promoting political, economic, trade, social and cultural relations between and among the countries of the world. We all know that this day and age of globalisation, communication matters. It’s role in promoting our country’s interests is vital. Communication helps us to promote our economic and trade interest,” he said.
The launching was witnessed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, External Trade, Minister of Tourism and Culture, government officials and other dignitaries.
