Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare says Solomon Islands must not take its low ranking as a least developed country and climate change vulnerability lightly.
Prime Minister Sogavare zeroed into this subject when delivering his national address during the festive season.
Mr. Sogavare says the country is struggling to come to terms with its challenges associated with its status as a least developing country and the effects of climate change.
He says absurd as it may sound considering the relative advantage of the country in terms of our natural resources and land endowment, Solomon Islanders must not take such announcement lightly.
The Prime Minister says, considering the country’s resilience on natural resources, sustainable development will continue to be an issue.
He urges that the people of this nation act responsibly in this matter.
