Saint Nicholas High School will soon change its name to Saint Nicholas College.

The school, located opposite the Bahaii Church, hosts a Kindergarten, primary school classes, secondary school classes and a number of USP classes.

Desmond Waita of the Anglican Church of Melanesia Education Authority told SIBC News, the Authority wants to change the name of the school following the many transitions the school experienced.

He says the school started off with a Kindergarten class, and has began hosting some classes for the University of the South Pacific.

“The transition is that St Nicholas had started as a Primary School, a kindergarten. Now it has grown from a Primary school to a Senior secondary to having form 1 to 7 and also it is currently hosting part of the USPSI Campus.”

SIBC News understands the ACOM Education Authority will make an official announcement of the new name during the Prize Giving Day of Saint Nicholas High School next Friday.
