In his remarks, Guest of Honor, the Minister for Finance and Treasury, Hon. Harry Kuma acknowledged that government services have long been centralized in Honiara.

He said this has created challenges for citizens in the provinces who wish to engage in business activities and access public services.

Minister Kuma then emphasized that the establishment of the new office is part of the government’s broader commitment to bringing essential services closer to communities.

” It is a significant milestone for the government, and is part of my Ministry’s commitment to expand and advance government services closer to our people and businesses.”

This is why under the Ministry’s corporate plan, we have committed to address this need by prioritizing targeted investments and service delivery closer to where the needs are,” Kuma said.

The new building will serve as a key administrative hub for the Ministry in the Western Province, aiming to improve accessibility, efficiency, and responsiveness of public financial services at the provincial level.
