
Vella Teachers Celebrate World Teachers’ Day

Teachers in Ward 8, South Vella La Vella in Western Province joined teachers globally today to celebrate World Teachers’ Day.
Although some schools did not attend, three schools, Kolokolo Primary, Eleoteve Primary, Maravari Primary, and the host school, Eleoteve Community High School, actively took part in the event.
The celebration was held at Eleoteve Community High School.
In his opening remarks, Principal Regional Tozaka of Eleoteve Community High School recognized the important role of teachers.
“Today, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day, a day to honor the great work teachers do worldwide, nationally, and in our communities.
“We come together to remember that real change in education begins by recognizing teachers.”
He said teachers play a key role in shaping society, whether in simple or difficult situations.

He emphasized that teachers deserve thanks for their hard work educating students and facing challenges in the education system.
“Because of teachers, our world is changing. Our nation is growing with more jobs and skilled workers in government and other fields,” he added.
Holden Koroi, Headteacher of Maravari Primary School, thanked teachers for taking part and spoke about the importance of the day.
“This day is for teachers to celebrate and think about our work during the year.”
Meanwhile, Reverend Ellison Lebe praised teachers for their physical and spiritual efforts in bringing children to school, a commitment the community deeply values.
The celebration ended with lively island dances, musical performances, and action songs, with many community members joining in to support and enjoy the event.
