The National Government through the Ministry of Agriculture will install an X-ray machine at the Henderson International Airport.

Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Augustine Auga confirmed this during his contribution to the Sine-Die Motion debate in Parliament today.

Minister Auga says the biosecurity measure is crucial to ensure undeclared plants and animals are prevented from entering Solomon Islands.

Mr Auga urges all parties to promote this important initiative.

“We will be looking at installing an X-ray machine at the International Airport as a measure to monitor undeclared plant and animal products coming into this country. Sir biosecurity should be everybody’s business as the saying goes, prevention is better than cure.”
