Work on the Arao Clinic ablution block in Lau Mbaelelea constituency, Malaita province is nearly completed.

Work on the facility was started by the previous administration and continues under the leadership of the current constituency’s Member of Parliament Hon. Ben Maenu.

The facility is to ensure patients seeking medical attention at the clinic have access to proper sanitation.

Hon. Maenu told SIBC News that the clinic hasn’t had proper sanitation since its establishment in the 80’s, and work on the facility is a great achievement for his people.

“This Building is a result of collaboration from the previous administration and the member of parliament for Lau Mbaelelea constituency, Hon. Ben Maenu,” he said.

Lau Mbaelelea Constituency Development Committee Member Jones Otafalu said the project is 80 percent completed.

All the materials to complete the facility have already arrived at the site.

Otafalu said his team will also construct a malaria lab and Maternity ward for Women.

“These projects will benefit not only the people of Arao community but the constituency as well,” he stated.

He thanked Hon. Maenu on behalf of his people of Arao community for his support to the people.
