THE ‘CARE’ Coalition will launch its coalition policy in Honiara this week Wednesday 14th February.

The launch will be held at the Youth Hub area, Chinatown.

The ‘CARE’ Coalition stands for Coalition for Accountability Reform and Empowerment (CARE).

The coalition slogan heading into the election is ‘WE CARE’.

The ‘CARE’ coalition is a partnership between the Solomon Islands Democratic Party (SIDP) led by Matthew Wale and the Democratic Alliance Party (DAP) led by Rick Houenipwela.

Wale is the former Opposition Leader and former MP for Aoke/Langalanga.

Houenipwela is the former MP for Small Malaita and a one time former Prime Minister.

The coalition launch is a free public event.

Following the Honiara launch, the coalition launch team will also tour other provincial centres.

The dates are as follows:

  • Honiara launch – Wednesday 14th Feb 2024
  • Auki launch – Friday 23rd Feb 2024
  • Afio launch – Saturday 24th Feb 2024
  • Marau launch – Monday 26th Feb 2024
  • Aola launch – Tuesday 27th Feb 2024
  • Noro launch – Friday 1st March 2024
  • Gizo launch – Monday 4th March 2024
  • Seghe launch – Tuesday 5th March 2024
  • Otelo/Lata launch – Friday 8th March 2024
  • Heuru launch – Monday 11th March 2024 (TBC)
  • Marou Bay launch  – Tuesday 12th March 2024 (TBC)
  • Kirakira launch – Wednesday 13th March 2024 (TBC)
