Kolosori community donates items to family displaced by fire

The Kolosori community in Isabel Province has donated personal items to victims displaced after their home was destroyed by fire in Bohi’o Settlement, West Maringe.

The donated items include cooking pots, clothing, food and cash to help the affected family recover from the incident.

Reports from Buala Police allege that a young man (member of the family) believed to be mentally ill started the fire, which completely destroyed the house.

Kolosori Village Elder Reuben Dotho Junior told SIBC News that nearby communities only learned about the tragic incident yesterday.

He said an appeal was then made for communities to assist the affected family.

“I call on the good Christian people of surrounding villages and the people of Isabel to come forward with whatever help they can give to the victims,” he said.

Mr Dotho also confirmed that the suspect’s mother is currently staying with the Kolosori community until the situation improves.

Meanwhile, police are working with communities to locate the suspect, who remains at large.
