Kumi delivers $100,000 support for JCPU Project

Member of Parliament for Temotu Nende, Hon. Stephen Kumi, has fulfilled his commitment to support the John Coleridge Patteson University (JCPU) Project with a donation of $100,000 to the Anglican Church of Melanesia.

The pledge was made during a corporate dinner held last week Friday, with the cheque officially handed over today.

Speaking briefly at the handover, Hon. Kumi said the contribution was made on behalf of the people of Temotu Nende, emphasizing that the support is for a worthy national cause.

“This is for a good cause and I will continue to support initiatives that contribute to the development of our people,” he said.

“Thank you, Hon. Kumi. Such support is truly encouraging and strengthens our efforts towards achieving our goal,” Dr. Hauriasi said.

He added that the gesture by a national leader is both inspiring and motivating for the Church and its partners as they work towards establishing the university.
