Landowners of Gold Ridge Mining Company deny they helped themselves with company properties after St. Barbara left without notice during the April flash floods.
Chief Mala Taovia says, it is irrational to think it is possible to steal from the company when security concentration around the Goldridge mine premises is at its maximum, provided by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, supported by the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands.
He says, his people respect assets belonging to the national government and St. Barbara.
Mr Mala Taovia caution both the Government and St. Barbara company against sweeping statements accusing landowners of taking advantage of the Mining Property.
