Measles vaccination center opens

The National Referral Hospital has opened a measles vaccination center for Solomon Islanders traveling overseas.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NRH, Dr. Steve Aumanu has enlightened following a number of social media posts questioning the country’s preparedness plans in case of an outbreak.

Dr. Aumanu explains the center is at the NCD/Dental building, Eastern end of the hospital, next to the refurbished old nurses quarters.

He says the Measles Vaccination Centre opens 9 am to 12 pm daily.

Dr. Aumanu says the Emergency Operation Centre has activated its measles outbreak preparedness plan.
