The Ministry of National Unity Reconciliation and Peace (MNURP) has completed consultations on a National Peace Building Policy Framework (NPPF) over the weekend.

In a media statement Permanent Secretary Lennis Rukale says the consultation aims to bring together all Government stakeholders to deliberate on the policy framework.

Speaking to participants at the consultations Mr Rukale says their input will be important in the country’s peace building process.

He says his Ministry’s mandate is to ensure Solomon Islands regain sustainable peace.

Mr Rukale urged the participants to collaborate in moves to restore genuine peace in the country.

The consultation also created links on how best Ministries can collaborate and incorporate the policy framework to support peace building in the country.

SIBC News understands, the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, also has some input into the National Peace Building Policy Framework.
