Pacific Investment Summit kicks off in Honolulu
The Pacific Agenda: Investment, Security and Shared Prosperity Summit commenced today at the East-West Center in Honolulu, bringing Pacific leaders together to advance regional investment and security cooperation that will directly support the livelihoods and well-being of Pacific communities.

The Summit was officially opened at the Keoni Auditorium, with opening addresses delivered by United States Deputy Secretary of State, Mr. Christopher Landau; Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM); and Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele.
Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele, MP, speaking in his capacity as Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum, is attending the two-day Summit alongside the Minister for Finance and Treasury, Hon. Rexson Ramofafia; the Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Peter Shanel Agovaka; the Minister for National Planning and Development Coordination, Hon. Trevor Manemahaga; senior government officials; and members of the private sector and civil service.
The Summit also brings together Heads of State and Government, Ministers, senior officials, and representatives from Pacific Island countries, development partners including the United States, and other regional and international organisations.
Following the opening plenary, the programme moved into Sector Working Sessions, where Solomon Islands Ministers and senior officials engaged in high-level roundtables covering critical sectors such as minerals, banking and financial services, supply chains, telecommunications, digital technologies, and energy security, all with the goal of creating practical solutions that improve daily life for our people, from farmers reaching markets to communities gaining access to electricity and digital services.

These working sessions provide opportunities for direct engagement with United States private sector representatives and project developers to explore commercially viable partnerships in infrastructure, food security, and health systems, investments that will strengthen national services and create opportunities for Solomon Islanders at home.
The Summit will continue tomorrow, focusing on targeted discussions to turn dialogue into concrete commitments that deliver sustainable benefits for Pacific communities.
