First game first win, for Phoneix netball club as they kick off their campaign in the 2025 Honiara Netball Association (HNA) Super Division with a bang.

Phoenix defeated Gold Ridge 1, 44 points to 31 during their clash on Saturday at the Multipurpose Hall.

Coach Anna Palusi said the win is a boost but knows there is still room for improvement, as they look for another top four finish in this season of the HNA Super Division.

“First win today but we still have a lot of things to work on. Winning or losing is part of the game, however, credit to my girls for putting on a good fight,” Palusi said.

“Our level of fitness needs more work. We’ll go back to the drawing board, work on these areas and come together more as a team.

“Lately we have been a bit slack in our training. Our aim for this year is to secure a top four finish again in this competition,” Coach Palusi said.

Super Division champions, Sunrise Netball Club on the other picked up their second win in their campaign after defeating Isa Purple.
