Police arrest male suspect in relation to the alleged murder of a woman in the Guadalcanal plains

Tetere Police have arrested an 18 year old male suspect in relation to the alleged murder of a 29-year-old woman from Malaita at the old CDC4 close to GPPOL 2 area in north Guadalcanal on 25 May 2025.

The suspect is from Kune village in the Kolona area at the GPPOL 3 boundary area and part of Boe village in south Choiseul.

The sad incident occurred when the deceased was alone washing at a well a little far from their home.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander for Guadalcanal Province Superintendent Edwin Sevoa said the suspect has been dealt with, and police are working on his remand application while the investigation is ongoing.

PPC Sevoa appeals to parties involved in the sad incident to stay calm while police liaise with responsible leaders to deal with the matter.

Superintendent Sevoa also thanked the community leaders for their support which led to the arrest.

Police share condolences with the friends, relatives, and immediate members for the loss of their loved one.
