The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force has come out publicly to advise the public against tarnishing the public reputation of former senior executive police officers – Walter Kola and Nela Mosese.

A statement from the Police Media Unit says, the advise is the legitimate response from the Police Force to Alfred Sasako’s newspaper article published by the Island Sun Newspaper last month.

Sasako had written, Kola and Mosese were forced to leave the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.

But the Police Media Unit says, while it is true that Mr Kola and Mr Mosese have left the Police Force – they were not forced out.

The police statement explains, Kola and Mosese both left voluntarily to take an early retirement.

The statement says, following their departure, the force is now seeking to restructure its executive to build a strong team for the
future.
