RSIPF EODD delivers world class training on UXOs

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) has delivered world-class Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training to international partners.

The 9 weeks International Mine Action Standards EOD Level 2 course was conducted at Hell’s Point for students from the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary and Defence Force, Nauru Police and RSIPF.

EODD Supervising Director, Staff Sergeant Peter Ririvere said the training allows the students to identify, move, and dispose unexploded explosive ordnance (UXO’s) with explosives.

Ririvere said the course was delivered by the newly formed RSIPF EOD training team, who partnered with the Australian Defence Force EOD training team.

Mr. Ririvere said the RSIPF EOD Department continues to be the regional leader in all matters on EOD.

This is evident through the training which increases the capability and partnership in the region.
