The High Court today has ordered the Management of the Solomon Islands Ports Authority to reinstate the workers it terminated as of Friday last week.

The ruling follows an urgent hearing conducted this afternoon at the High Court.

The orders of the Court also issued a declaratory order that any termination by the Ports Management of the contract of employment of any its workers on or after April 15th, 2015 is an action taken by the Defendant contrary to section 10 of the Trade Disputes Act.

The orders also stated that the SIPA Management is restrained from terminating or suspending any of its workers, including taking away any of their entitlements.

SIBC News understands, 13 workers were terminated last Friday and three more received termination letters  this week.
