He said such events help people appreciate their roots that are made up of arts, customs, and habits that define society.
“Most of our beliefs, values, languages, and the things we create are part of our way of life. Let’s remember to embrace our culture so we can pass it on to the next generations.
“Culture brings about positive changes in our development. It is important to understand and live our culture so we can build good relationships and connect with our own ethnic groups.
“Cultural shows are a great way to promote our identity and help students appreciate where they come from. Congratulations to all the participants for their hard work in showcasing their culture.
“Thanks to the social and cultural committee and teachers for their support in helping our students prepare,” he added.
Meanwhile the Deputy director of culture and tourism Mr. John said that culture should be practiced in schools and in society.

“Today we are reminded that culture is not just about songs, dances or traditional dress that we wear, but it is the soul of who we are.
“In schools like St. Mary Tanager Community High School culture is like a bridge that connects each and every one as students come from different backgrounds,” he said.
