Venues and huts for the Melanesian Arts Festival should be completed over the weekend.
Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Andrew Nihopara confirmed in yesterday’s media conference.
Mr Nihopara said, venues and huts for the festival were now ninety to 95% percent complete.
“We have managed to speed up the preparation process for the festival,” he said.
” All the traditional huts at the Melanesian village are well under construction.”
Meanwhile, the Festival Director Dennis Marita said a total of 800 delegates have confirmed their participation.
He said the target number of delegates set by the festival committee was around 1000 delegates.
The Melanesian Arts Festival begins on 1st July.
