4TH PIDF CONCLUDED SUCCESSFULLY IN HONIARA

The Fourth Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF) Leaders’ Summit has successfully concluded yesterday.

In his closing remarks, Chair of the PIDF Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare said the Forum’s focus on climate-induced migration must be commended.

Mr. Sogavare said in the drive to roll out the Paris Agreement, a further consultation was agreed on around a PIDF roadmap on Climate Change and the proposed Pacific Climate Treaty.

Prime Minister Sogavare also announced the theme for next year’s PIDF Summit will be “Pacific Year of the Ocean.”

The summit ended with a farewell function last night at the Heritage Park Hotel.
