GOLD RIDGE LANDOWNERS ASSURED OF ROYALTY PAYMENTS

Permanent Secretary for Mines and Energy Jeffrey Kahua has assured Gold Ridge landowners they will receive their royalties soon.

This comes after the Gold Ridge People’s Power Group recently demanded the Government releases their long-awaited royalties.

But Mr Kahua yesterday said, the land owners will receive their royalties soon after the Ministry sort out some issues.

“One of which is the misappropriation the last time round of their royalty payment, and two is to rectify the payments that are rightly for those tribes. Last week I had a meeting with the Gold Ridge landowning council. We greed that they will go back and have an interim meeting among themselves and call all the tribal representatives to look at how they will share and how they will compensate each other.”
