Hopes are fading for 15 people missing at sea near Marau, West Guadalcanal, with sea search and rescue crews now into their fourth day of searching.
The 15 missing people were among 23 travelling from Malaita’s West Are’are region on Wednesday morning when their boat capsized in bad weather.
Seven people were rescued. One child died.
There are grave fears for the remaining 15, who have now been lost at sea for a fourth day today.
Sea search and rescues crews say the chances of finding any survivors are “slim”.
