The lack of communication has affected some communities in East Are’ are, in Malaita Province during the recent bad weather.

Community Representative Robert Tahi reports lack of communication from network providers were hopeless when it was most needed.

“It really affects us as we don’t have anyway to be kept updated with what happened so far and having no means of communication to make contacts with people in Honiara, especially reporting on incidents.”

Mr Tahi says people have to take risks and travel to areas accessed to network services to provide information to Honiara during the bad weather.

He adds seven houses, livestock and water supply have been washed away from the recent flash flooding in Marou Masite, East Are’are.
