Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo visited evacuation centres in Honiara today with the message to “work together”.

Prime Minister Lilo visited evac centres at Bishop Epalle School, the Rove Police Club, Mbokona School in West Honiara; Mbokonavera School and Mbua Valley School in Central Honiara; and, the Panatina Campus, and King George School in East Honiara.

During his visit to each of the Evacuation Centre, Prime Minister Lilo urged people to work together to help themselves and each other.

Reports also say flood victims welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit and were thankful for his visit.

Some victims also said the visit was what they needed – that at least the Prime Minister had visited them and made personal assurances that the Government will assist them.

SIBC News understands Prime Minister Lilo was accompanied by the Environment Minister Bradley Tovosia, his Chief of Staff – Robert Iroga, his Press Secretary Douglas Marau and local media.
