The Minister for Development Planning and Aid Coordination, Connelly Sandakabatu is among a high level group of panellists who have discussed Regional Connectivity for Shared Prosperity this morning in Bangkok, Thailand.
A government statement today says Minister Sandakabatu will present on the opportunities presented by Information Communication Technology in the Pacific and Solomon Islands in terms of education and financial services.
He says while ICT applications are new and expensive to the Pacific, they will benefit Pacific communities and connect them to the rest of the world.
The cost of ICT services such as telephone and Internet services however are very high in the Pacific, especially in Solomon Islands
SIBC News understands, other Ministers on the Panel are from the Philippines, Bhutan, Cambodia, and a senior representative from the Asian Development Bank.
