SEVERE ROAD CONDITION DENIED PEOPLE BASIC TRANSPORTATION

The travelling public of  Tuararana, Central Guadalcanal has been denied access to reliable basic transportation services as a result, severe road condition.

Chair of the Midstream Community Joel Jackson told SIBC News, theTuararana road has been left unused for many years despite maintenance was announced by their Member of Parliament.

Mr Jackson said people face difficulties accessing incomes and medical attention due to the road condition.

“No marketing has taken place here because people can only do marketing if there is a road and for those living at Mamasa they have to carry market products and walk for an hour before reaching the main road and access transportation. More difficult is caring for the sick especially carrying them to the road before getting them to the hospital.”

Mr Jackson calls on the Member of Parliament for Central Guadalcanal to find ways to address his people’s concern.
