The Director of the Meteorological Services David Hiriasia says his office has issued heavy rain and strong wind warnings for the southern parts of the country.

Mr Hiriaisa made this announcement today.

“The met Service has issued two warnings and they are the heavy rain warning and the strong winds warning, but again the tropical depression which is located in the Coral Seas during the weekend is already within the Vanuatu region.”

He, however, adds fine weather is expected by Wednesday this week.

“Since this depression is fast moving and as I’ve said, it is now in the Vanuatu area, the forecast now is that by Wednesday things should be clear, so we are looking at probably late into Tuesday and Wednesday, things should start to be clear especially in terms of the rain and wind.”
