ADB SIGNS ENERGY AGREEMENT WITH GOVERNMENT

The Asian Development Bank, ADB, this morning signed the Solomon Islands grant and loan agreements to assist the Government boost energy access and renewable energy.

The ADB says the funds and loans agreement is specifically to boost energy access generation in Auki, the capital of Malaita province.

Finance and Treasury Minister, Hon. Rick Houenipwela and ADB Vice-President Lakshmi Venkatachalam and Deputy General Manager of the Solomon Islands Electricity Authority, signed the legal documents.

The signing ceremony took place this morning at the World Bank Office- Mud Alley, Honiara.
