Grade six students from Beata Adventist Primary School at the upper Betikama in Northwest Guadalcanal constituency visited the SIBC headquarters in Honiara today.

The visit is part of the school’s educational learning trip to help students understand how the broadcasting media operates.

School Head Master Jack Poru said the visit motivates students to consider broadcasting media as a future career.

“We are happy to come to SIBC. It is a place where students can look and learn.

“We learn how broadcasting operates and how news is broadcast across the country. From their visit, some students may decide to work in the media industry,” he said.

Grade six student Thresia Osiabu said broadcasting work is an appealing career option.

“This visit motivates us to work hard to be able to achieve our career goals, one of which is broadcasting,” she said.

Beata Adventist Primary School is a newly established school that aims to provide education to children near the Betikama Adventist School.

The school has enrolled more than 160 students.
