SIBC head of sales Gloria Hong with Bmobile Vodafone chief commercial officer Ewan Walker.

For bmobile-vodafone, it is all about supporting a good cause – and something synonymous with the Solomon Islands.

The telecommunications company is the first local business to throw its support behind SIBC’s Independence Day concert on July 7 at the Art Gallery, featuring up to 10 Solomon Islands’ string bands.

bmobile-vodafone chief operations officer Ewan Walker said the company wanted to put its brand name behind events that featured traditional Solomon Islands culture.

He said the string band concert fitted perfectly.

“We have to get behind the traditional elements of the Solomon Islands, particularly on Independence Day” Mr Walker said. “And I urge other businesses to also support this concert and the traditions of the country.”

The concert will start at about midday on Friday, with bmobile-vodafone offering special deals at the event.
