Students who have completed their courses under the Canadian International Training and Education Corp (CITREC) in Honiara will soon be sent to Canada to work under the recently signed Labour Mobility agreement between the Guadalcanal provincial government and Canadian government.

Deputy Premier of Guadalcanal Province, Rolland Seleso who took a three-man delegation to Canada recently said his government takes this issue seriously and they are working on preparations to send the students over to Canada.

“At the moment what happens is that we take this seriously to make sure that we work on the preparation of formalities to make sure they are ready then we can send our young people to work in Canada. In fact, we have 35 graduates who graduated last year under the CITREC program.”

He says they will send their students off to Canada next year as soon as legal formalities are completed.

“As soon as we complete the legal formalities in preparing them to go then we might send them around May or June next year.”
