The Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government is committed to developing the country’s cultural sector into a meaningful pillar of unity for the country.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism with support from the European Union and other International and Regional Organisations is hosting a four days training for local cultural practitioners in Honiara this week.

The ‘Solomon Islands Cultural Industries Entrepreneurship’ training, gathers representatives from the local Arts and Cultural Industry.

Permanent Secretary (Acting) John Wasi says his team will soon submit the ‘Traditional Knowledge and Expressions of Cultures’ Bill to parliament.

The Bill aims at protecting traditional knowledge and cultural expressions of Solomon Islanders once enacted.

The training program concludes tomorrow.
