Gizo residents in the Western Province are advised to manage their water tanks as the provincial headquarter continues to face water shortages.

Team Leader of the Gizo Water Crisis Committee, Silas Arukwai told SIBC News in an interview today they are currently working hard to address the situation.

He says they are trying to implement quick-fix plans to help the Gizo residents have access to drinking water.

“We have tried to address this situation and so far we have been trying a quick-fix plan so that we can improve our water sources so that people can have access to drinking water and other household uses of water and so the situation right now is that people are still having difficulties in accessing water.”

SIBC News understands, similar concerns were also raised by communities in Savo and Choiseul Province recently.
