GOV’T ALLOCATED $4-M THROUGH PCDF FOR PROVINCES
The Government has allocated about $40 million through the Provincial Capacity Development Fund (PCDF) to help provincial governments with their development projects.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening, Stanley Pirione confirmed this to SIBC News.
He says this came about after the National Steering Committee for the PCDF met early this week and endorsed an assessment conducted in June and July this year.
“The National Steering Committee of the PCDF called the joint oversight committee we had a meeting on Monday and Tuesday this week we have endorsed the assessment taken in June and July this year. This assessment made an analysis on the implementation of PCDF projects in the provinces. We have already endorsed the results and the Government has allocated a sum of $40 million for 2015.”
The Permanent Secretary adds, Provincial Governments throughout the country will soon receive their PCDF as soon as details are finalised.
“As soon as we finalise all the details we will release the funds to the provinces, so they will be looking forward to receiving them probably towards the end of the month or early next month.”
