The Solomon Islands Indigenous People’s Human Rights Advocacy Association has announced it will be celebrating the International Indigenous Day in September this year.

Chief Executive Officer of SIPRA, Moses Ramo confirmed the celebrations to SIBC News saying a one-day event will be held to mark the event.

“As organisers we are thinking of organising a day’s event for that day and that day falls on Sunday 13th September 2015.”

Mr Ramo says the proposed venue for the event will be held at the Maranatha Hall, in East Honiara

SIBC News understands the International Indigenous Day falls on September 13.
