KAC alumni reunion brings together former students and teachers

The Kukudu Adventist College (KAC) Mini Reunion of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church has reconnected former students and teachers including current students.

The program officially opened at the Kukudu Campus, Kolombangara Island in Western Province on Thursday under the theme “Building God’s Sanctuary.”

Speaking during the opening ceremony, KAC Alumni Committee Chairlady Mrs. Sharon Kele welcomed all alumni, current students, and teachers to Kukudu for the reunion program.

“We pause to recognize that this moment is not just another date on the calendar in 2025, but a God-appointed season for you to reflect, reconnect, and look back at how this school has impacted you,” she said.

The pioneers of the school were honored with respect for bringing Adventist education to Kukudu.

“These are men and women of God who envisioned and had faith to dream of bringing Adventist education to Kolombangara Island, especially here at Kukudu. 

“Their legacy is the very foundation upon which Kukudu was established.

“Their prayers, sacrifice, and determination gave birth to this institution, and since then it has shaped many lives,” Mrs. Kele said.

Mrs. Kele also acknowledged the leadership of the Seventh-Day Adventist Mission, under which Kukudu has operated.

The first project for the KAC Alumni Committee is to build a proper chapel for the school, which is reflected in their theme “Building God’s Sanctuary.”

“This reunion is a call for all of us to come together to give back, help rebuild and strengthen the sanctuary. 

“We have not had a proper chapel or church all along,” Mrs. Kele stressed.

Reunion is a time for alumni, current students, and teachers to reconnect with God.

The program will continue through the weekend until next week.

KAC has produced outstanding students who contributed to the country’s social and economic development.
