The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has handed over a cheque of $70,000 to Nabua Eco-Lodge today.

The funding is to assist develop Nabua Eco-Lodge project in South Guadalcanal, an effort to promote culture in the constituency.

Speaking to SIBC News, Project Coordinator Peter Suibasia said, the project is the first of its kind to be developed in South Guadalcanal constituency.

Mr Suibasia on behalf of the communities thanked the Ministry for recognising and assisting local cultures in the country.

He urged the national government to support local tourism projects especially in isolated areas in Solomon Islands.
