Communities at the Bishop Patterson Parish in North Malaita have yesterday celebrated St. Luke Day.

SIBC’s North Malaita stringer John Andrew Kiri reports, more than 200 members of the Anglican Church of Melanesia in the region attended the event.

He says St Luke’s mission as a Physician and later an Evangelist, was the sermon delivered at the event by Reverend Father Richard Siuga.

“In his sermon yesterday, Father Richard Suiga touched a little about the life, work and the good example shown by St. Luke in giving medication to people who are sick both spiritually and physically. St. Luke changed and became a doctor to the soul and can heal people who are spiritually sick as an Evangelist working in God’s service.”
