The Parliamentary Opposition Group has denied any official support to the reforms by the Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) boss Collin Yow.

The Opposition Group made this clarification, amidst reports on social media and an article in the Solomon Star that might have implied the Opposition’s support for Mr Yow and his reforms.

This was after the Opposition Group invited the SIPA CEO to brief them on his reform agenda on Thursday this week.

The statement says the Opposition has not made any official position yet on the SIPA issue as it is still in the process of gathering information with relevant stakeholders before its position on the matter is announced.

Meanwhile, the Opposition Group strongly reiterated that the Government, especially the Prime Minister and the Minister of Infrastructure and Development (MID) must deal with the issue and find a better solution for SIPA, the disgruntled investors and citizens of this country.
