The Parliamentary Opposition Group is seriously concerned the proposed public servants housing scheme announced by the government involves fishy arrangements undertaken by top government officials with an Asian company.

In a statement, the Opposition said while it welcomes the initiative by the Government to build 5,000 new homes for public servants, they are concerned that the Asian developer Skyline Investment Group Company and Solomon Islands Development Corporation Ltd (SIDC) have shady and questionable backgrounds.

The Group said it is highly questionable as Company Haus records revealed that Asian developer, Skyline Investment has the same company and individual addresses as that of the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Meanwhile, the statement said this also applies to SIDC as partner of the Asian developer which was registered two weeks ago, with one of the directors being the Special Secretary to the Prime Minister (SSPM) Rence Sore.

The Opposition calls on the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and Mr Rence Sore to clarify this as Company Haus records have clearly linked the OPMC to the Asian investor.

SIBC News understands the revelations were gathered from the Company Haus.
