The Pacifica TV has donated some multimedia equipment to the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC) today.

The New Zealand High Commissioner to Solomon Islands Georgina Roberts handed the equipments to SIBC’s General Manager Ronnie Buoaka during a brief ceremony.

Speaking during the event, Mr Buaoka thanked New Zealand’s Pasifika TV for the timely assistance.

Mr Buaoka said, the equipment will pave a way forward for SIBC journalists to carry out their work effectively.

“This equipment will really help our journalists to report effectively anywhere they go out,” Mr Buoaka said.

Meanwhile, Her Excellency Georgina Roberts said, she really looks forward to seeing SIBC journalists making good use of the equipment.

“I look forward to seeing journalists using this equipment to continue with their credible reporting both for radio and Television,” Mrs Roberts said.

Pasifika TV has also assisted 10 other Pacific Islands Broadcasting News Organizations with similar assistance after a series of trainings last year to Strengthening Media Resilience Training program in partnership with the TV New Zealand.

Pasifika TV was funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade and delivered by the Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited which has been operating throughout the Pacific region since 2015.
