PM denies plans to terminate cabinet ministers, slams rumors

Prime Minister Rick Hou denies plans to terminate five of his cabinet ministers.

The Prime Minister issued this statement following a front-page article by Alfred Sasako in the Island Sun yesterday, claiming that the Prime Minister could be dismissing five senior ministers in his Cabinet.

These false rumors were advanced by people who were intent on undermining the solidarity of the his government, the Prime Minister said.

He said, the Government has a very important task ahead and that is to pass the 2018 Budget, the next few weeks are critical.

Prime Minister Houenipwela said his Government remains intact and is on course to delivering its priority policies earmarked for this year.

He wants ministers to concentrate on the Budget and more especially improving it.

He said he has no time for politicking as he is determined to do the work.

The Prime Minister further stressed that the public should not allow themselves to be misled by rumors which are derived from hearsay.

Mr. Houenipwela said Solomon Islanders can be rest assured that the Government is stable.
