Papua New Guinea’s new High Commissioner to Solomon Islands has presented his credentials to Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo.
High Commissioner Fred Yakasa presented his credentials to the Prime Minister yesterday.
During the brief occasion, Prime Minister Lilo welcomed the new P-N-G High Commissioner and said Solomon Islands and PNG share a very unique and mutual relationship that not only embedded on the bilateral forefront but also traditionally through both countries culture and people.
In response, High Commissioner Yakasa assured the Prime Minister he will uphold dignity and respect to his office, and to the Government and people of Solomon Islands.
The new PNG high commissioner also stressed that PNG will continue to be a partner with the Solomon Islands through investment, and in other important sectors.
High Commissioner Yakasa also announced he will make sure unfinished programs and MOU’s must move forward to enhance development plans between his country and Solomon Islands.
