POLICE INVESTIGATE TETERE COLLISION
Police are investigating a fatal collision at the Tetere area following the death of a 14-year old boy and many others were in serious wounds at the National Referral hospital.
Police are investigating a fatal collision at the Tetere area following the death of a 14-year old boy and many others were in serious wounds at the National Referral hospital.
The collision occurs on Saturday morning when two vehicles, a land cruiser and a public bus collided. Police alleged the bus driver was under the influence of liquor and he was travelling with a large number of passengers heading to town.Police reported that the public bus where the deceased boy was travelling, collided onto the land cruisers’ rear, sending it to crush on the nearby road.
Many of the passengers and travellers were injured and brought to the National Referral Hospital for treatment. Currently, a total of five people are still in the hospital including the bus driver who is in a critical condition.Police are reminding and warning members of the public, particularly motor vehicle drivers, to take heed and consider police traffic safety rules. This is to prevent any death or disruption of enjoyment during the coming festive seasons.
The police traffic Unit will continue to conduct traffic checks in the coming days as were leading up to the Christmas and New Year season.
